In the beginning, as it was and so shall it be in the end of days,
Light was cast upon the void and all its horrors.
And all that is vile began to writhe from brine and sod,
Proliferating fear and isolation
Beyond the eyes of gods.
Rising to ascendancy upon the backs of fatal flaws,
So each day we rise and look to the light of the sun.
It is with ominous sense of foreboding of what's to come.
The wrath of nature's law
And fate's obscured hands weaving webs of delight and despair,
A wretched thing to spend existence self aware.
The weight of all things placed squarely upon our shoulders,
The light of knowledge blinds our eyes and drives us into delusion.
Alone on a throne of failure,
Circling the spirals along the paths to unbind thy soul.
With great power comes great pain,
And all that is lost in the end will erase all that was gained.
Is this curse to be held in the highest of reverence,
Or is it to be scorned and spat upon?
Is it possible to discern the difference?
The dredging grind of questions unanswered
Paired with the impetuous will of nature,
An impeccably functioning environment of self sustaining entropy set to linger through the eons.
And so as the ages accrued the permanence of this despondency metastasized throughout reality, manifesting in manifold forms sublime and sinister with no reprieve for the many to remain unanswered.
All is lost.
To the void we return.
As it was, so shall it be.
Gravenchalice takes a triumphant and complex sound and mixes it with classic Black Metal melodies and thundering drums that just works so well. This sound has been big since DSO became popular, however it doesn't take the dissonance and instead layers everything to make everything nice and beefy while having a great sense of melody. A great EP. 4/5 ClassyMusicSnob
