Upon the barren plains
Of spiraling desolation
Where no life dwells
And all color is painted shades of grey,
The mire of stagnation
From which no light can escape
Contests to expand
Consuming all in its radial path.

Amidst the deafening silence
Disrupting frozen shadow,
A thunderous cracking of the static
Defiant of catharsis,
Renouncing abject darkness,
New strength alleviates my atrophied limbs.

From pits of despair
My emaciated form rises
To set forth again on the endless journey
Across the vastness of the expanse.
With every step the skin of my feet blister
Peeling away revealing the muscle and bone.
With every glance my eyes find no oasis
In this bleak and inhospitable home.

There is no end,
There is no beginning ,
Only the journey
And the vastness of the expanse.
